Covering approximately 270 km\u00b2, it is the country\u2019s second-largest lake after Issyk-Kul, but its character is completely different: there are no lively beaches or seaside resorts here, just endless alpine pastures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Unlike <a href=\"https:\/\/kyrgyzstannomads.com\/fr\/le-lac-issyk-kul-tout-savoir-sur-le-celebre-lac-du-kirghizistan\/\">Issyk-Kul<\/a>, which never freezes because of its salinity, Song-Kul is completely covered in ice during winter, sometimes until early June.
