Keep in mind that withdrawal limits are often low, usually around 20,000 soms (about 200 euros) per transaction. One minute you\u2019re cruising along brand-new tarmac, the next you\u2019re bouncing over a dusty, pothole-ridden track. Coming across herds of sheep, cows or horses on the road is more the rule than the exception. A <\/span><b>4&#215;4<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is therefore not an unnecessary luxury, but highly recommended.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Officially, the speed limit is <\/span><b>90 km\/h<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on main roads, <\/span><b>60 km\/h<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in built-up areas and <\/span><b>40 km\/h<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in city centres. Police checks do take place, but tend to be low-key. If you\u2019re stopped, stay calm and polite, and don\u2019t hesitate to ask for an official document stating the amount of the fine.
